Former Arkansas 4-Star TE Will Gragg Transfers to Pitt

This morning Pitt filled a hole at what had been a big position of need.

Former Arkansas 4-star recruit Will Gragg announced that he’ll be joining the Panthers as a graduate transfer and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Pitt issued a press release with comments from Pat Narduzzi.

“Our tight end room just got an infusion of veteran talent with the addition of Will Gragg. He is a tremendously smart and tough competitor who will help us in the run and pass games. Will had a number of options following graduation from Arkansas and we’re thrilled he picked Pitt to continue his athletic and academic careers.”

Last season, Gragg caught 5 passes for 61 yards in 10 games.

Gragg joins a tight end depth chart that includes Tyler Sear, Grant Carrigan and Charles Reeves.

Maybe I’m confused or maybe just slow, but we get these “four start” and occasionally “five star” transfers all the time and HCPN has a love affair with these guys, immediately elevates them over everyone else on the depth chart, and they end up being average or below average players. The problem is the players they leapfrog on the depth chart probably end up frustrated because these older players are brought in and PN likes his shiny new toys. This is Flannigan 2.0. And just to remind everyone–Flannigan SUCKED.

You’re right on. Been saying for some time, quick fixes aren’t the answer. Recruit your needs and develop them to their fullest. Send bad message with transfers.
