Florida DL Keenan Hester Makes Official Visit to Pitt

A large group of elite players from Florida will be making official visits to Pitt this weekend but yesterday another player from the Sunshine State made his official visit.

3-star defensive tackle Keenan Hester (6-5, 280) from Saint Petersburg decided to give the Panthers one of his five official visits and considering some of the schools that have offered Hester, this was definitely positive news for Pitt.

Aside from Pitt, Hester holds offers from Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

The bigger news for Pitt is that Hester left Pittsburgh impressed with the visit and is serious about Pitt.

“My visit yesterday to Pitt was overwhelming,” said Hester. “Everything they showed me, their practice facility, the time I spent with the coaching staff, it was just overwhelming.

“The thing that caught my attention the most is that they share facilities with the Steelers and practice on the same field as them. The facilities were just beautiful.”

Hester is getting recruited by Rob Harley, Charlie Partridge and Pat Narduzzi and they all see him as a potential big part of Pitt’s future defensive line.

“They run a 4-3 defense so the linebackers play through the lineman so they said if I want to go to a place that would highlight my skills, it would be Pitt. I believe my biggest strength is as a pass rusher. I love to get to the quarterback,” said Hester.

What’s next up for Hester?

He tells PSN that he’ll be next attending camps at Florida and Georgia. Hester also says that he saw enough yesterday that Pitt will be a school that he’ll seriously consider.

“That’s why I took a visit there and after what I saw, Pitt is one of the top schools on my list.”
