Die-Hards: Analyzing Pitt’s Big Recruiting Haul

Published

on

Sunday was probably the single busiest day in the history of Pitt recruiting, with eight recruits giving head coach Pat Narduzzi their verbal pledges on Father’s Day.

It was an unprecedented recruiting haul, as the Pitt staff turned a weekend with 15 visitors into 10 commitments.

Let’s try to put Pitt’s nearly unbelievable Sunday of recruiting into context. First, we’ll compare Sunday to other big recruiting days in Pitt football history (spoiler alert: it was good). Second, we’ll see how the weekend’s commitments have changed where Pitt’s Class of 2019 stacks up regionally and nationally, then we’ll look at the schools Pitt beat to land those commits and where they came from, and finally, we’ll tackle the issue of quantity vs. quality.
