Former Pitt Guard Brad Wanamaker Signs With Boston Celtics

Brad Wanamaker’s hard work has finally paid off as he’s now been able to fulfil a lifelong dream.

This week, the former Pitt Panthers star signed a free agent contract with the Boston Celtics for the rookie minimum of just over $830,000.

His journey to the NBA is complete after spending the last seven years playing in Europe. This past season, Wanamaker played with the Turkish club Fenebahçe where won the BSL title. In the postseason, Wanamaker was named the Turkish League Finals MVP as he averaged 16.2 points per game, averaged 4.2 assists and shot 76.3 percent (9-16) from 3-point range.

Other Wanamaker European Accomplishments:
*Averaged 16.7 points per game during the 2016-17 season and was named Second Team All-Euroleague
*During the 2015-16 season in the German league, was named as a German Beko BBL All-Star starter
*Wanamaker was named the German League’s 2015-16 Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year

Wanamaker will wear number nine with the Celtics.
