Pitt basketball’s 13-game non-conference schedule was announced this morning.

This portion of the schedule will include nine games at the Peterson Events Center, starting on November 6th.

The Panthers start the season at home against Youngstown State and then host VMI on November 9. Following those two games, they will take part in the Barclays Classic by hosting Troy (November 12), Central Arkansas (November 15) and Northern Alabama (November 17) before playing at the Barclays Center as they take on St. Louis (November 21).

After competing against an Atlantic-10 team, Pitt will travel to Iowa (November 27) for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Following two road games, they’ll be back in Pittsburgh for the City Game against Duquesne on November 30 at PPG Paints Arena.

Following their matchup against the Dukes, Pitt will host Niagara on December 3 and then will face a big challenge by traveling to Morgantown to resume their long-standing rivalry against West Virginia.

To close out their non-conference schedule, Pitt will host Maryland Eastern Shore (December 15), New Orleans (December 20) and Colgate (December 29) before they start ACC games.

“We have put together a balanced non-conference schedule that will help us prepare for conference play,” said Jeff Capel. “A couple of our marquee matchups in non-conference play will be on the road but our home schedule is loaded when you look at the fact we are hosting seven NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago in conference play. We are excited about the opportunity we have this season and look forward to seeing some great crowds at the Pete.”
