Jeff Capel has done wonders for the Pitt basketball program. He, along with his talented staff, has been able breathe life into a program that was on life support.
I recently exchanged messages with a national basketball reporter from The Athletic (hint: I tweet his information all the time). We have known each other for a while and I highly value his opinion. He recently sent me a messaged that stated, “It’s absolutely night and day the difference between the two staffs (Capel vs. Stallings). The most startling part has been that the recruits have been so unaware of Pitt playing in the ACC. It’s as though the prior staff did no marketing”.
The Panthers have yet to play a single game in the Capel era but there is a tangible feeling of excitement with the team, the fan base and recruits.
This leads me to Charlottesville (VA) wing Aundre Hyatt.
