Another former Pitt Panther has signed a contract with an NBA team.
A few weeks after Brad Wanamaker inked a deal with the Boston Celtics, Jamel Artis has a new home.
This afternoon, Artis signed a 2-year deal with the Sacramento Kings. No terms of the deal were announced.
This summer, Artis played with the Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League team and impressed enough to sign on with the Kings.
During the 2017-18 season, Artis played 15 games with the Orlando Magic and averaged 5.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists while averaging 18.6 minutes per game. The Magic decided not to extend Artis a qualifying offer following the season.
From all reports, this contract is only a partially guaranteed contract which means he’ll need to earn a spot during training camp.
