A nice honor for two members of the Duquesne Dukes football team.
Running back A.J. Hines and wide receiver Nehari Crawford were both named to the third team of the STATS FCS Preseason All-America Team.
Last season, Crawford reeled in 65 catches for 1,026 yards. The senior receiver from Fort Pierce, Florida led the FCS with 15 receiving touchdowns and averaged a league-high 93 yards per game.
Hines (Wilson, North Carolina), who was the 2016 Jerry Rice Award winner, has impressed and produced since stepping on Duquesne’s campus two years ago. Last season, Hines rushed for 1,038 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in 10 games. In two seasons with the Dukes, Hines has totaled 2,329 career rushing yards and scored 23 touchdowns.
For seven consecutive seasons, Duquesne has had a member of its team finish on FCS All-America Team with names such as Serge Kona (2011), Dorian Bell (2012), Christian Kuntz (2013, 2015, 2016), Devin Rahming (2014), Chris King (2014) and Ben Huss (2016, 2017).
The Dukes are in camp and open the season on August 25 as they travel to Amherst, Massachusetts to take on UMass.
