Pitt Players Shine in Week 1 Exhibition Games

The Pitt football program has done a good job lately of developing players and getting them into the NFL.

Last night was the opening night of exhibition games in the NFL and a number of former Panthers had productive nights.

Here’s a recap of who was in action and how they performed.

NATHAN PETERMAN (Buffalo Bills):

Peterman finished the game 9/10 for 119 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT

LAFAYETTE PITTS (Buffalo Bills):

Pitts finished the night with 3 tackles.

TYLER BOYD (Cincinnati Bengals):

Boyd’s lone reception of the night went for a 3-yard touchdown catch from Andy Dalton.

RYAN WINSLOW (Chicago Bears):

Winslow is competing for the Bears starting punting job with Patrick O’Donnell. Winslow had 1 punt for 45 yards while O’Donnell had 3 punts that averaged 40.7 yards.

SCOTT ORNDOFF (Jacksonville Jaguars):

Orndoff signed late with the Jaguars and is looking to catch on. Last night, Orndoff finished with 2 catches for 16 yards including a TD.

TOM SAVAGE (New Orleans Saints):

Savage is competing for the Saints backup job and finished the night 10/14 for 70 yards.

JORDAN WHITEHEAD (Tampa Bays Bucs):

**In his first professional game, Whitehead finished the night with 2 tackles.

JAMES CONNER (Pittsburgh Steelers):

**With LeVeon Bell holding out, Conner got the start and had 4 carries for 25 yards and 1 catch for 9 yards.

EJUAN PRICE (Los Angeles Rams):

**Price is once again battling to make the Rams 53-man roster. Price had a good debut finishing with 2 tackles including one sack.

NICOLAS GRIGSBY (New England Patriots):

**Grigsby is with the Patriots and ended the night with 1 tackle.

RYAN LEWIS (New England Patriots):

**Lewis is trying to make the Patriots and made this big hit.
