Championship basketball will be played at the A.J. Palumbo Center in the 2018-19 season.
Tuesday, the Atlantic-10 conference announced that Duquesne University will host the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship games of the conference Women’s Basketball Championship.
Duquesne basketball on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by The Summit Academy: setting young men on the path to a better future.
The event will then move to Dayton in 2020 and to VCU in 2021.
For the past five years, the Richmond Coliseum has hosted the A-10 Women’s Championship tournament but due to construction at the building, it isn’t available for the near future.
As in the past, the top two seeds will receive a bye to the quarterfinals. Seeds three thru eight will play first-round games at the home of the higher seeds before the rest of the tournament moves to the A.J. Palumbo Center starting on March 8.
The first round games along with the quarterfinals will be available on ESPN+ with the semifinals being televised on CBS Sports Network and then the championship game will be shown on ESPNU.
Last season, George Washington beat Saint Joseph’s in the final to earn the A-10’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
