Major Loss For Georgia Tech: KirVonte Benson Out For The Season

Published

Georgia Tech will be without one of their top players for the remainder of the season.

Today, the program announced that starting running back KirVonte Benson will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury suffered in Saturday’s loss to South Florida.

Benson rushed for over 1,000 yards last season and was an All-ACC selection.

It’s believed that Jordan Mason will replace Benson in the Yellow Jackets starting backfield with Jerry Howard serving as his backup. In two games this season, Mason has carried the ball 24 times for 180 yards.

In last seasons win over Pitt, Benson rushed for 196 yards on 29 yards and 2 touchdowns including a 47 yard score in the 4th quarter that sealed the game.
