This past weekend, Pitt hosted mostly 2020 recruits for their game against Georgia and one of those players was 2020 linebacker Bangally Kamara.

Kamara is from Akron, Ohio and has been in contact with the Pitt staff for close to a year. At this point, the junior holds offers from Akron, Cincinnati, Kent State and Toledo.

“I’ve been in contact with Pitt since last summer when I went to their camp and ever since then I’ve been talking with them,” Kamara told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I got an invite from the staff so I wanted to come up for a game and check things out,” said Kamara.

Kamara had the opportunity to speak with coaches and get a good look at the Pitt football facilities and like many recruits that had a positive impression on him.

“What really impressed me most about Pitt was their relationship with the Pittsburgh Steelers and being partners with them,” said Kamara. “I was able to talk to the linebackers Coach Harley and also Coach Narduzzi. They were talking to me about how Pitt might be a place for me.”

At this point, Pitt hasn’t extended an offer but that could be coming in the future.

“They said the season isn’t over yet and at the end of my season they’re going to evaluate my tape and come to a decision,” said Kamara. “This whole process is an honor because Pitt is a Power Five school and anytime you’re talking with a Power Five school it’s a blessing.”

Although he’s a linebacker now, Kamara told me that Pitt isn’t sure yet which position they see him playing in college because of his athleticism.

Kamara has another big visit planned for this Saturday has he’ll make a trip to Columbus to check out Ohio State.
