We’re getting close to opening of the 2018-19 Pitt wrestling season and today the official schedule was announced.
Things open up on November 2 as the Panthers will hold their annual Blue vs. Gold exhibition match at the Fitzgerald Field House.
Pitt wrestling coverage on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by the Pittsburgh Wrestling Club.
The next day, the Panthers will compete in the Clarion Open and then things really begin as they compete against a number of nationally ranked programs such as Oklahoma State, NC State, Virginia Tech, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa and North Carolina.
Other opponents on the slate this year are West Virginia, Bucknell, Oklahoma, North Dakota State, Gardner-Webb, Davidson, Duke and Virginia.
The 2019 ACC Wrestling Championship will begin on March 9 in Blacksburg, Virginia.
The wresting season will wrap up as Pitt will host the 2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship on March 21-23 at PPG Arena.
