Some good recruiting news for Pitt this morning.

I have an update to a story I did a couple of days ago on the status of Pitt’s 2019 recruiting class.

Two players that I said to keep an eye on where defensive ends Brandon Mack and Bryce Nelms because other programs could be pursuing them.

After receiving a message from him, you don’t have to worry about the commitment status of Nelms.

Nelms tells me that while other schools might want him, that he’s totally committed to Pitt and his commitment status shouldn’t be questioned or even a story. Also, he said that just because one player de-commits, that doesn’t mean others will follow.

Nelms (6′-6″, 255) is having a monster senior season for West Orange High School in New Jersey.

Aside from Pitt, Nelms was also offered by Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Central Florida and Virginia.
