Pitt volleyball swept North Carolina in straight sets on Friday to improve their best-in-the-nation winning streak to 19 games.

In front of over 6,000 fans at North Carolina’s Dean Smith Center, the No. 6 Panthers won, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-16 to improve to 19-0 on the season and 7-0 in ACC play.

Along with No. 1 BYU, the Panthers are one of just two remaining unbeaten teams in all of NCAA Division I volleyball.

Against the Tar Heels, sophomore middle Chinaza Ndee had 12 kills and juniors Nika Markovic (right side) and Stephanie Williams (outside) each had 10. Sophomore outside Kayla Lund had five kills and a season-high 13 digs. Senior libero Angela Seman had 12 digs.

Pitt won in Chapel Hill for the first time since 1993 and improved to 11-6 all-time against North Carolina.

The Panthers will complete their two-match road trip on Sunday, when they visit NC State at 1 p.m. They’ll return home for two matches next weekend against Notre Dame on Friday and Louisville on Sunday at Fitzgerald Field House.
