First Loss for Capel as Pitt Loses Out to Miami For Anthony Walker

Jeff Capel has worked hard to get Pitt in the running for some major talent but to this point, hasn’t landed that big recruit yet.

Despite being a finalist and the favorite according to some people, Pitt fell short in trying to landing Anthony Walker

This afternoon, the 2019 4-star power forward announced that he was committing to the Miami Hurricanes.

Walker (6-8, 210) is from the highly successful Brewster Academy program and is rated by Rivals as the 76th best junior in the country. In the end, Walker selected Miami over Pitt, Illinois and Boston College.

The Pitt staff is hoping to land front court players in this year’s class and today’s loss was a big blow to those efforts.
Pitt’s attention will now turn to 5-star center Kofi Cockburn, 4-star center Qudus Wahab and 4-star forward Akok Akok.
