Mt. Lebanon (4-5, 4-3) clinched a playoff berth Friday with a 34-28 win over Norwin (3-6, 2-5).
The Blue Devils scored on their second possession of the night and held the lead for the duration.
Drew Vaughn found the end zone with 3:17 remaining in the first quarter while two Mt. Lebanon field goals pushed the lead to 13-0.
Everett Lefever scored from 10 yards out to push the lead to 20-0 before quarterback Seth Morgan tossed a 69-yard touchdown pass to Mason Ventrone, giving the Blue Devils their largest lead of the night.
Norwin finally scored with 17 seconds remaining in the half when Jack Salopek hooked up with Sean Pavlic for 46 yards.
Norwin scored three times in the second half (all Salopek touchdown passes), but the lead never seemed to be in danger.
The weather and the score made the second half arbitrary until Norwin scored a touchdown with just 11 seconds remaining to make it a one-score game.
Mt. Lebanon recovered the ensuing onside kick and will face Seneca Valley next week before learning their first playoff opponent.
