Pitt Still in the Running for Florida Defensive Back Briton Allen

Briton Allen is a name that Pitt fans might have forgotten about but shouldn’t have.

The talented defensive back from IMG Academy was part of the large group of players from Florida that made official visits to Pitt in June.

Although he didn’t commit, it definitely crossed the mind of Allen.

Allen (5′-11″, 180) is a 3-star cornerback and has received offers from schools such as Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

To this point, Allen’s only official visits were to Pitt and Michigan.

So where do things stand with him now?

Pittsburgh Sports Now exchanged messages with Allen who updated us on his recruitment.

Right now, Allen says the five teams that he’s focusing on are Pitt, Syracuse, Kentucky, Arizona and Georgia Tech.

At this point, he doesn’t have any other official visits set.

Where does Pitt stand with him?

“Pitt is still an option and is very high. I still talk to the coaches every week,” said Allen.

Does he have a timeline to make his decision?

Allen tells me that he will be making his college choice after this high school season is over with in November.

IMG Academy is a place that Pitt has recruited hard over the last few years but hasn’t been able to land anyone from that talent rich program. Getting Allen would be a great pickup for Pitt’s Class of 2019.
