Watch: Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski Reacts to FBI Trial Verdict, Clarifies Previous Remarks

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski drew the unlucky assignment of being one of the first high-profile ACC coaches to speak on Wednesday afternoon at ACC media day following the news that the basketball corruption trial in New York had returned a guilty verdict.

Krzyzewski had gone on the record during a press conference on Oct. 15 as calling the investigation merely “a blip” and “not what’s happening” in college basketball.

Krzyzewski walked back those words on Wednesday, saying “nothing is frivolous about what we’re doing.”

He also expressed frustration at his seeming helplessness to effect change in the situation, despite being entering his 43rd season as a collegiate head coach and also being heavily involved in USA Basketball.
