Robert Morris guard Josh Williams made NCAA history in the Colonials 2018-19 home opener.
The senior guard tied an NCAA single-game record for three-pointers (15) and set the school record for points in a game (49) as Andy Toole’s squad cruised to a 104-57 win over Mount Aloysius.
Williams finished the night 15-for-25 from 3-point range, which tied an NCAA D-1 record established by Marshall’s Keith Veney in 1996. As far as the new school record, Williams broke the mark of 42 points in a game set by Maurice Carter in 2002 vs. Eastern Michigan.
It was a night of records as the Colonials also set a team record for 3-pointers made in a single game (22). For the game, RMU shot 51.2% from beyond the arc.
