PITTSBURGH It was closer than expected, but Pitt was able to hold off North Alabama, 71-66 on Saturday and improve to 5-0 on the season.
Pitt dealt with some tired legs and an unexpectedly aggressive Lions defense, which head coach Jeff Capel was extremely complementary of in his postgame press conference.
But the talent level of the Panthers, led by freshmen point guard Xavier Johnson, was just too much for North Alabama.
