Postgame Reaction from Pitt’s City Game Victory over Duquesne

PITTSBURGH — It didn’t start pretty for the either team, but it ended up golden for the Panthers, as Pitt overcame an early hole and a cold night shooting to run away from Duquesne late, 75-53 at PPG Paints Arena on Friday night in the 87th playing of the City Game.

The Panthers had trouble with Duquesne forward Mike Hughes, but were able to get four guards in double figures by getting out in transition and played smothering defense that held the Dukes to 33 percent shooting and forced 22 turnovers.
