The Pitt Football Coaches Hit the Recruiting Trail
With the regular season now officially over, Pat Narduzzi and his staff will spend most of the next few months on the road recruiting both 2019 and 2020 prospects.
The staff will be visiting with players that have already given commitments as well as players that they’d like to add to close out this year’s class and to get a start on next year.
All week, Pittsburgh Sports Now has been working on trying to figure out where the Pitt staff will be this week. Keep in mind, this week will be the programs first weekend to host recruits on official visits so the staff will be on the road today through Thursday.
Here’s what we’ve been able to confirm for this week. We will update this as we learn more information.
Today:
*Pitt is scheduled to travel to California to visit with 3-star tight end Travis Koontz. Tim Salem will be making this trip and possibly Pat Narduzzi. I’ll update this as soon as I get confirmation.
Monday:
*Pat Narduzzi and Charlie Partridge are scheduled to meet with their latest commit, 4-star running back Daniel Carter.
*Andre Powell will be in Maryland to visit with teammates DE Deandre Jules and CB A.J. Woods.
Tuesday:
*Charlie Partridge will remain in Florida and meet with Pitt’s first 2019 commit, DT Calijah Kancey.
*Florida athlete Khadry Jackson will get a visit from Pat Narduzzi, Rob Harley and Tim Salem.
Wednesday:
*Interesting how Pitt will visit with WR Jared Wayne. I’m told that Pat Narduzzi and Rob Harley will visit with Wayne in Clearwater while Kevin Sherman will travel to Canada to meet with Wayne’s parents.
Thursday:
*Tim Salem will be in one of his recruiting territories on Thursday to visit with New Jersey DE Bryce Nelms.
*Archie Collins has an important trip as he will be in Alabama to see DE Brandon Mack, who’s receiving heavy interest from other major programs.
*Cory Sanders will also be in the Garden State to see TE prospect Jason Collier.
*Pat Narduzzi along with Shawn Watson plan to be in South Carolina to spend the day with quarterback commit Davis Beville.
*Another big visit for the staff as Tim Salem with see 3-star OT Christian Mahogany, who is someone Pitt would very much like to get a commitment from. Mahogany will make his Pitt official visit this coming weekend.
Another Visit:
*I’m also told that Charlie Partridge will visit this week with DE commit Bam Brima, an exact day and time have been finalized.
