PITTSBURGH — The NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship is coming to Pittsburgh in 2019. Join volleyball fans from across the country as the top teams in the nation compete for the ultimate prize Dec. 19 – Dec. 21 at PPG Paints Arena, hosted by Duquesne University and SportsPITTSBURGH.

The event marks the fourth time in 11 years PPG Paints Arena will serve as a host venue and the seventh overall for Duquesne’s athletic department. The Dukes hosted first and second round games of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in March and last month’s Division II and Division III Women’s Volleyball Championships.
There are 330 NCAA member institutions that sponsor Division I Women’s Volleyball teams and are eligible to compete in the national championship. The 2019 Division I Women’s Volleyball championship provides for a field of 64 teams to compete in a single elimination tournament. Of the 64 teams, 32 teams will receive automatic qualification while the remaining 32 teams are selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee.
