Pitt offensive tackle Stefano Millin has been nominated for the 2018 Piesman Trophy, an award created by SB Nation in 2015 to highlight linemen who do un-linemanlike things.
Millin scored a touchdown on a throwback lateral in Pitt’s win over Wake Forest on Nov. 17 that seal the Panthers’ first ACC Coastal Division title.
Millin is one of 18 nominees, which will be narrowed down to two or three finalists, before the trophy is presented in New York the night before the presentation for the Heisman Trophy. The finalists will be selected by popular vote on SB Nation’s website.
Former Pitt and current Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Brian O’Neill won the award in 2016 for scoring on a similar play.
Ashton Henderson of Southeast Louisiana won in 2015. Heidelberg’s Brock Riggs won it in 2017.
