Yesterday was quite the day for future Pitt quarterback Davis Beville.

The day started with him learning he’d been raised to a 4-star recruit by Rivals and it finished with him spending evening with his future coaches.

Pat Natduzzi and Shawn Watson traveled to Greenville, South Carolina to conduct their in-home visit with Beville.

This morning, on his way to school Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up with Beville and got his reaction to the events of the past 24 hours.

While the 4-star ranking is a nice honor, Beville is keeping everything in perspective and is more worried about his future at Pitt.

“I didn’t really expect it,” said Beville. “When I woke up, I saw a tweet that said “Good morning and it told me I was now a 2019 4-star quarterback in their class. I think it’s just cool that all the hard work has been recognized.”

”However, I also know that as soon as I get to Pitt in about a month that being a 4-star recruit means absolutely nothing.”

This is obviously a nice personal honor for Beville but he said he’s more happy for the improved image it gives to Pitt for adding another highly rated recruit.

“I think that’s probably the coolest thing about it just me giving good recognition to the Pitt football program.”

Narduzzi and Watson both congratulated Beville but also had a similar mindset as their future quarterback.

“They congratulated me but also said once you get there, stars don’t matter in college,” said Beville.

“Our overall visit was really good. I had a blast. Earlier in the night, they went over and saw Nate (Temple) and then when they got my house, we sat down and had some dinner. We talked, caught up and then talked some football. I’m definitely excited to get up there and join them.”

And he’ll be joining them fairly soon too. Beville will sign his Letter of Intent on December 19 and enroll at Pitt early in January.

This all means that the next phase of Beville’s life is almost here.

“I’m nervous but I’m much more excited. It’s going to be an awesome experience and can’t wait to get it started.”
