Two Dukes Win A-10 Weekly Honors

For for the time in nine years, the Duquesne basketball team has a Player and Rookie of the Week in the same week.

Today, the Atlantic 10 announced that sophomore forward Eric Williams and freshman guard Sincere Carry were named conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively. Back in 2009, Aaron Jackson and Eric Evans both won the awards for the Dukes.

In 2 games against Penn State and Eastern Kentucky, Williams averaged 21.0 points and 10.5 rebounds. Williams connected on a last-second shot in overtime vs. Eastern Kentucky that propelled Duquesne to the win.

Carry continues his impressive rookie campaign as he averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the week.

Earlier this year, forward Austin Rotroff was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Duquesne (9-3) is off until they return to the Palumbo Center on December 31 when they host NJIT.
