2020 Center John Hugley to Make Unofficial Visit to Pitt in January

While the team is on a Christmas break, the Pitt basketball coaches were out recruiting.

As PSN reported, Jeff Capel and Milan Brown were in Maryland tonight scouting 2019 forward Jalyn McCreary, who appears to be a serious candidate to land an offer from Pitt.

Those weren’t the only two members of the staff out looking at possible future prospects.

This evening, assistant coach Jason Capel was in Cleveland again watching 2020 center John Hugley. Jason appears to have taken over as the lead recruiter for Hugley (6’8”, 240) as he’s been in Ohio multiple times in the last couple months watching the sophomore center.

At this point, Pitt hasn’t extended an offer but that’s likely to change soon.

Pittsburgh Sports Now talked to Hugley who says that he informed Capel that he’ll be making an unofficial visit to Pitt for their upcoming game against North Carolina on January 5.

Hugley is a physical player in the paint that can score inside, dominate the boards and has the ability to alter shots.

At this point, Hugley holds offers from Buffalo, Dayton, Duquesne, Nebraska, Penn State, Saint Louis and Xavier.
