One of Pitt’s fantastic freshman received a league honor today.
Trey McGowens was named ACC Freshman of the Week following a big game vs. Colgate and becomes the first Panther to win this award.
McGowens scored 16 points (6-for-8 from the field), 5 rebounds and recorded 4 steals in the Panthers win. The 16-point effort was his ninth double-figure scoring game of the season.
For the season, McGowens is averaging 12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals per game.
The Panthers finished the non-conference schedule with a record of 10-3 and open up conference play this Saturday as they host #15 North Carolina.
