PITTSBURGH — Behind a sell-out crowd at the Petersen Events Center on Saturday, Pitt’s young squad battled No. 15 North Carolina to a 12-12 draw through the first seven minutes.
Everything went downhill from there, as the Panthers couldn’t buy a shot on offense, were exposed on defense, allowing a 24-2 run that let the Tar Heels put the game away.
After the game, North Carolina head coach Roy Williams and former Pitt guard Cameron Johnson spoke about the Tar Heels’ big win and Johnson’s return to Pittsburgh, while Pitt head coach Jeff Capel and guards Malik Ellison and Trey McGowens talked about how the Panthers can be better moving forward in ACC play.
