UPDATE (1:00 PM)-

In Pitt’s search for an offensive coordinator, one name has been taken off the board.

Alabama co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Josh Gattis has agreed to become the next offensive coordinator at Michigan. Gattis had not been actively linked to the Pitt job, but seemed to be a candidate that made some sense.

He had familiarity with the region as Penn State’s wide receivers coach from 2014-17 and with the ACC footprint as a Wake Forest alum and Durham, North Carolina resident. He has also coached at Vanderbilt, Western Michigan and North Carolina.

UPDATE (12:30 PM)-

** New West Virginia head coach Neal Brown is coming to Morgantown by way of Troy University in Alabama, his alma mater is UMass and he was raised in Kentucky, but Brown has certainly picked up the spirit of the Backyard Brawl.

In his introductory press conference on Thursday, Brown said that “they don’t let you sign the contract until you dislike Pitt.”

The Panthers and Mountaineers are set to get together on the football field once again starting in 2022.
