In a recruiting process that featured more ups and downs than a roller-coaster at Kennywood, Pitt lost out on another highly rated recruit.
Four-star center Qudus Wahab (6-foot-10, 230) announced on Twitter Wednesday that he selecting the Georgetown Hoyas. Although he listed a few schools as finalists, Wahab ended up choosing Georgetown over Pitt.
For a time, it looked as though Wahab (Flint Hill School, Ashburn, Virginia) would select Pitt. In fact, we’re told that when he was set to announce his decision last month, it was going to be Pitt but his guardian/handler got Wahab to delay the decision because he was in favor of Patrick Ewing and Georgetown.
Even as early as this morning, college basketball Insider Andrew Slater forecasted Wahab to Pitt only to change that prediction two hours later.
Wahab becomes what has seemed like a endless list of names that have Jeff Capel and Pitt as a finalist but choose to go elsewhere. While their still are other un-committed talented players still left in the Class of 2019, the list of talented big men is dwindling.
