MJ Devonshire to Make College Decision Live on Pittsburgh Sports Now

Published

on

Aliquippa’s MJ Devonshire has been in the news a lot because of the heavy interest fans have in where he’ll end up playing college football.

Will the 4-star cornerback pick Pitt, West Virginia, Kentucky or Indiana? While people might make a guess, the truth is nobody really knows. Devonshire will reveal his college decision a week from today at Aliquippa High School on February’s National Signing Day.

We’re excited to announce that Devonshire has agreed to make his much talked about decision live and exclusively on Pittsburgh Sports Now and our YouTube channel Pittsburgh Sports Live. Alan Saunders and Mike Vukovcan will be with Devonshire at his school and you be able to watch as we broadcast this decision live.

Just to be clear, neither Devonshire or his family have reveled to us what his decision is and won’t do so before he announces. We’ll be finding out at the same time that as our viewers. We’re also not doing this because we believe he’s leaning towards a certain school. We approached the Devonshire family about doing this because of the heavy interest there is in MJ and thought it would be something that our audience would enjoy watching.

We here at Pittsburgh Sports Now would like to thank MJ and his family for allowing us to air this decision live.

As much as I’d like to see him pick Pitt, it would be pretty hilarious to go on PghSportsNow and say you’re taking your talents to Lexington.

No thanks. I’m extremely doubtful that he’ll pick Pitt and am not a masochist, so I’ll just read about it later if he picks Pitt. He can go fly a kite if he doesn’t.

If the rumors are true that he is going to Kentucky and shunning Pitt, you are not doing your site or its subscribers any favors. This is a Pittsburgh sports site not a Kentucky site. With that said, I would hope that he would decline the invitation if that truly is his intent. If he is not committing to Pitt, I have no interest in where he chooses to go.

I’m with you on not caring where he goes if it’s not Pitt. However as you wrote, this is a Pittsburgh site and unless you’re being pedantic Aliquippa is, for all intents and purposes, Pittsburgh and who would fault a high school kid for wanting to broadcast what is likely the biggest decision of his life thus far?

WPIAL is a big part of the site and getting him to commit on our channel is a huge deal, regardless of who he picks.

Like I’ve said here before: I’m assuming big recruits will go somewhere else so I’m done getting my hopes up. Time to face facts Duzz can’t land the big fish.
