The visit by Justin and Julian Champagnie to Pitt this weekend got most of the recruiting attention but they weren’t the only recruits that made a visit.
2020 shooting guard David Early is a player that’s fairly new to the Pitt recruiting scene and he accepted an invitation to attend Saturday’s game vs. Virginia Tech.
Early (6’4″, 240) is a 3-star guard from Logan Senior High School in Logan, West Virginia and holds offers from West Virginia, Duquesne, Marshall and Ohio plus is getting interest from Xavier, Virginia Tech, Providence and Rutgers.
“I’ve been talking to the University of Pittsburgh for a month now,” Early told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I’ve been talking with assistant coach Milan Brown. When he got a hold of me, he told me that he really liked how good of a player and how good of a person I was. We talked about how they wanted to build a relationship with me and that the staff wanted me to come up around the program more.”

“I’ve been able to follow Pitt this year and what the new staff is trying to do. I really liked the game on Saturday and the atmosphere they have. I’ve watched Pitt a few times this season and I really like their style and how they play.”
Pitt along with every other program that watches Early likes his ability to score and create offense for either himself or his teammates. He tells me that the biggest thing that he worked on during the season was defense and believes that he’s much better than he was a year ago.
Since he’s fairly new to their recruiting board, Early hasn’t received an offer from Pitt yet but is hoping one comes in the near future.
“We really haven’t talked about that much,” said Early. “I’m going to go for more visits and hopefully one comes because I really like that school.”
