Demetrius Thomas Comfortable as Pitt’s Anchor in First Year of D-I

PITTSBURGH — This time last year, Demetrius Thomas was wrestling for tiny Williams Baptist College, an NAIA school in the northwestern corner of Arkansas.

This year, he’s been the anchor at the back of Pitt’s lineup that has come through with four crucial victories with a dual meet on the line as the Panthers have cruised to a 12-3 record thus far this season with just one more meet to go before the ACC and NCAA tournaments, the latter of which Pitt will host in Pittsburgh.
