UPDATE (1:30 PM)-

Pitt softball snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over Penn State on Sunday. Designated hitter Alexee Hayne drove in both runs. She tripled home Katlyn Pavlick in the third inning and scored Morgan Batesole with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Brittany Knight (2-4) struck out four in the shutout win.

It was the first meeting between Pitt and Penn State since 2017. Pitt won that game at Vartabedian Field, 7-1. The Panthers and Nittany Lions are scheduled to meet again in Oakland on March 27.

Pitt (2-12) went 1-4 on the weekend, losing twice each to Coastal Carolina and UCF in Orlando, Florida. The Panthers have five games in Oxford, Mississippi next weekend — two against Nicholls State and three against Ole Miss.

UPDATE (11:38 AM)-
**A couple local football recruiting notes, Youngstown State has offered two juniors: DE/TE Dayon Hayes from Westinghouse and DT Amaar Allen from Central Catholic. Hayes is a major 2020 target for Pat Narduzzi and Pitt.
