Postgame Reaction from Pitt’s Loss at Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Pitt’s 12th straight loss was an ugly one, as the Panthers dropped a 73-49 decision to the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday.

But ugly is to be expected with a young team going up against the No. 2 team in the country and Tony Bennett’s notoriously stingy defense.

Despite the lopsided final score, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel thought his young team did some good things on both offense and defense, and perhaps more importantly, got to see first-hand what they’re hoping to become as they develop as a program.
