The Pitt Panthers resume spring football next week.

Workouts and coaches back at the facility means that recruits will once again starting making their way to Pitt’s South Side facility.

Tyler Berrong is a 3-star outside linebacker from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida and he’ll be making an upcoming trip to Pitt.

Along with Pitt, Berrong (6’3”, 215) holds offers from Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Purdue, South Florida, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up with Berrong last night to get details on his visit and what impresses him about Pitt.

“Coach Sanders and Coach Harley love me,” said Berrong. “I talk to Coach Sanders weekly which is big to me because I think it shows that they actually want me and want to know what kind of person I am.”

“They have been very excited to get me up there on campus and see how they do things. I’m honestly excited to get up to Pittsburgh because they show me nothing but love. They’re in my Top 10 because I can definitely see myself there and playing under Coach Harley.”

“They keep saying how they love my physicality and just the way I play overall and how much I’d fit in with there scheme and how they like to play on defense,” said Berrong.

This playmaking linebacker tells me that his trip to Pittsburgh is scheduled for March 27/28.

“The trip has been planned I think since mid/late February. I’m very anxious just to see everything they have to offer and what it’s like up there. From what they have told me it seems like an amazing place to play ball.”
