Postgame Reaction from Backyard Brawl at PNC Park

PITTSBURGH — West Virginia took home the second leg of the 2019 baseball Backyard Brawl, 9-4 on Tuesday night at PNC Park, completing the season sweep of the rival Panthers.

But for first-year Pitt head coach Mike Bell, this season has been more about building a foundation for the future and creating a more positive experience for his players.

Count Tuesday’s trip to the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates — where Pitt hasn’t played in 10 years — in that category.

Hear from Bell, South Hills native Nico Popa and West Virginia coach Randy Mazey, outfielder Darius Hill and pitcher Nick Snyder.
