Virginia RB CJ Beasley to Announce Friday

With the school year coming to a close, more and more football recruits are announcing their college decisions.

The latest example of that is 2020 3-star running back CJ Beasley (Norfolk, Virginia), who announced he’ll be deciding on Friday.

Beasley (5’9”, 170) tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he’ll be choosing between Pitt, Virginia Tech and Tennessee. It’s not a surprise that the speculation is that hometown Virginia Tech is the overwhelming favorite.

Pitt extended an offer to Beasley back in February and were able to get him to attend Junior Day but there hasn’t been much traction between the two sides since then.

Beasley was part of the group of players from Virginia that received an offer after the hiring of wide receivers coach Chris Beatty.

”Pitt stood out because I see their program not just for athletics but for academics. They have a huge benefit for their student athletes after college,” said Beasley tells PSN.

Assuming Beasley commits to Virginia Tech, here are five running backs to keep an eye on for Pitt:

Isreal Abanikanda (Brooklyn, New York), Jaedon Henry (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), Tajae Davis (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), Torrance Davis (Cleveland, Ohio) and Tirek Murphy (Middle Village, New York).

PSN has confirmed that everyone but Davis is scheduled to be visiting Pitt sometime during the month of June.

Right now if I had guess, I’d say that Abanikanda is the most likely of that group to eventually commit to Pitt.
