Florida 3-Star CB Michal Antoine Recaps Pitt Visit

The great majority of players that camped at Pitt this weekend didn’t have an offer from the Panthers.

That wasn’t the case with Michal Antoine.

The 3-star junior cornerback has a Pitt offer and made the trip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Antoine (5’11”, 165) is close friends with current Pitt Panthers cornerback Marquise Williams and running back Vincent Davis.

Antoine is still in Pittsburgh tonight and spoke with Pittsburgh Sports Now following his his camp participation today.

“I really like Pitt,” said Antoine. “They’ve been watching my film and they’ve came to my games so I wanted all of their coaches to see me play and not just on film. I wanted to show them in person what I can do.”

”I think I showed them a lot, I went crazy. I showed them I could press, I showed them I could use my feet and I showed them I could lock up top receivers.”

Antoine tells me that his chief recruiter is Charlie Partridge, someone he’s developed a great relationship with.

“Coach Partridge is just awesome,” said Antoine. “We get along very good because he’s from the same part of town that I am. He grew up near where I’m from so he understands me and where I come from. He’s come down to watch me play and he’s made many visits to my school and we always talk. He just really makes me feel comfortable.”

“Pitt’s recruited two players that played with me in high school (Williams and Davis) so I know there’s something here that they really liked and made them feel comfortable and feel like home. Coach Partridge texts me everyday and Coach Collins texts me also from time to time. They seem like they really want me here.”

One thing that surprised Antoine about Pitt was the weather. This was his first visit here and he expected Pittsburgh to have cold weather. He was pleasantly surprised and believes he could adapt to the weather if he were to choose Pitt.

Aside from Pitt, Antoine holds offers from Iowa State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota and Missouri.

What’s next for Antoine?

He says that he’ll be taking an official visit to Iowa State first and then will return to Pittsburgh for an official visit in September.
