Seneca Valley’s Josh Kaltenberger Talks About Offer From Purdue

After months of patiently waiting and working hard, Seneca Valley center Josh Kaltenberger got the news yesterday that he was hoping for.

After impressing the coaches during their camp, Kaltenberger received an offer from Purdue, his first Power Five offer.

“When I went to the Pitt camp I posted my times up on Twitter and a couple days later, I heard from Coach Williams, Purdue’s offensive line coach,” said Kaltenberger. “As we were talking, he said I’d really like you to come visit and if I were to post those numbers and show that athleticism at our camp there’d be a good chance you’d walk away with an offer.

“Honestly, I went out there with no expectations. From the beginning, with all of this I never want to get my hopes up too high. As I always do, I went to Purdue and gave 100%. I’m just thankful it all worked out.”

How did Kaltenberger find out from Purdue that they were offering him a scholarship?

“The day after the camp, I took a quick tour of the facility and then later that night they called me and offered. Their o-line coach actually offered me but I talked to Coach Brohm prior to that and he said that I’d be getting a call later with good news so I figured I might be getting it.”

How does Kaltenberger feel now a day after receiving this huge news?

”it definitely means a whole lot to me. The first Power Five team that offers you is the one that I believe really believes in you the most. This means a whole lot. People are now telling me that I’ll be receiving more now but this first one means a lot.”
