“I know this was a quick decision, but I know this is where God wants me to be.”
That was the message Seneca Valley center Josh Kaltenberger gave after giving his verbal commitment to Purdue, just five days after receiving his first Power Five offer from the Boilermakers.
Kaltenberger is Pittsburgh Sports Now’s seventh-ranked recruit in WPIAL’s Class of 2020 and becomes the third of our Top 10 players to commit.
”I would like to thank God for giving me this amazing opportunity,” added Kaltenberger. “I also want to thank my parents for everything. Thank you, Dad for spending hours upon hours helping me and putting your life on hold for this recruiting process. Thank you, Mom for always being the support system I needed and for reassuring me that God has a plan through the highs and lows.”
“There is no other school where I’d rather be!”
Over the last few months, Kaltenberger (6-foot-5, 280 pounds) received offers from Temple, Colorado State, Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Ball State, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Toledo, Western Michigan and a number of Ivy League schools prior to the offer from Purdue this week.
Kaltenberger becomes Purdue’s third offensive lineman to commit in their Class of 2020.
He is the third WPIAL player in the class to commit, joining Norwin quarterback Jack Salopik (Western Michigan) and Central Catholic defensive end A.J. Beatty (North Carolina).
