While the main attention this weekend was on uncommitted players making their official visits, this was also a big couple days for Sam Williams.

The big defensive end from Fort Lauderdale who was already committed to Pitt, joined the big group of players making his official visit.

Williams was Pat Narduzzi’s first 2020 commitment when he gave the Panthers his pledge back on April 6.

This morning as he was boarding his plane to head back to Florida, Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up with Williams to get his thoughts on his visit to his next football home.

”The weekend was really special, “ said Williams. “It was great to get back to Pitt to see the coaches and current players but also be around the group of recruits that were in town visiting. I had a really great time

”Since I’ve already committed, it was nice to be here without any pressure and really just enjoy everything. I also acted as a recruiter trying to talk to some of the players visiting this weekend.”

Despite already being member of Pitt’s Class of 2020, Narduzzi and his coaches still gave proper attention and spent quality time with Williams, Michael Statham and Jaylon Barden.

”Going into the weekend, I realized and understand that a lot of the focus would be one the uncommitted players visiting. But, I still had the chance to really talk with the staff,” said Williams. ”I talked with Coach Partridge and was able to sit in on one of the position meetings plus talk about the plan moving forward. I also had a long talk with Coach Narduzzi in the Cathedral of Learning.”

When asked if he felt better about his commitment to Pitt following this weekend, Williams said: ”Yes no doubt, 100%.”
