Jeff Capel wants players that can play multiple positions. He offered one of those kinds of players on Tuesday night.
3-star shooting guard Tristan Maxwell (6’2”, 190) from Huntersville, North Carolina received an offer from Pitt.
Currently, Maxwell holds offers from Gonzaga, NC State, South Florida and now the Panthers.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Brown since the start of my junior season,” Maxwell told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Then tonight Coach Capel called me tonight and told me I had the offer.”
”They told me that they like that I can play both the shooting guard and the point guard. He likes the way I can pass off the screen and the way I can shoot the ball.”
Maxwell tells me that the strengths of his game are his shooting, ability to get to the hoop and believes he’s a good passer.
The North Carolina native knows enough and heard enough from Capel that has him interested in the Panthers.
”The offer means a lot to me and I feel blessed,” said Maxwell. “I want to get up there and go on a visit. I feel that Pitt is a program that are a couple players away from being up there.”
”Pitt is definitely a team on the come up.”
