Recruiting the WPIAL with Alan & Mike: Central Catholic DL Elliot Donald

PLUM, Pa. — This spring and summer, Alan Saunders and Mike Vukovcan of Pittsburgh Sports Now are touring the WPIAL and interviewing the best players and prospects.

The fourth stop on Pittsburgh Sports Now’s WPIAL recruiting tour is an in-home visit with Central Catholic defensive lineman Elliot Donald.

Donald, the nephew of former Pitt and Penn Hills great Aaron Donald, has turned into a dominant high school player in his own right. A consensus four-star prospect and the No. 1 player in the WPIAL in the Class of 2021 according to 247 Sports, Donald’s college recruitment has taken off early, with big-time schools such as LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pitt, Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and West Virginia all offering before his junior season of high school has even begun.

Alan caught up with the 6-foot-3, 225-pound defensive lineman after practice on Tuesday and talked about his football family, what made him love the game, and how he wants to tackle his college recruitment. Check it out:
