Duquesne’s A.J. Hines Preseason 1st Team All-American

Big news for Duquesne running back A.J. Hines as he was named a STATS Football Preseason First Team All-American.

Hines is coming off a year in which he rushed for 1,520 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns for the Dukes. The rushing yards were third most in the FCS while the touchdown total was good for 6th in the country.

Hines, who is the reigning NEC Offensive Player of the Year, enters the 2019 season as the active FCS leader with 3,849 yards and 38 rushing touchdowns.

Prior to this preseason award, Hines was also named an All-American by both Athlon Sports and HERO Sports.

Duquesne, the preseason favorite in the NEC Conference, opens the season on September 7 at home vs. Walsh. Kickoff at Rooney Field is set for 4 PM.
