While his basketball home for the 2019-20 season is still unknown, Donovan Johnson is starting to focus on where he’ll eventually play college basketball.
The 4-star forward from Moon High has narrowed his long list of college offers to seven schools and he shared that list with Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Since he doesn’t do Twitter, Johnson wanted to announce his Top 7 teams and gave that list to Pittsburgh Sports Now Saturday morning for us to release tonight at 7 PM.
Johnson has narrowed his final list to these seven teams (no order): Pitt, Arizona, North Carolina, Louisville, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State and explained why these programs made the cut.
North Carolina: “Great coach and a great legacy. Coach Williams is one of the best to do it.”
Louisville: “Great atmosphere and great coaches to further my development.”
Miami: “A program that has been on me hard and a great campus atmosphere.”
Notre Dame: “A lot of legacy and coach is one of the best around and is real good at developing players.”
Arizona: “Coach Miller is a great coach and my dad has known him for a while. Also, a great campus and they are really good with development.”
Ohio State: “Great atmosphere to be around with amazing coaches to go along with it.”
Pitt: “Close to home and I have known of them since I was a kid and they are on the come up.”
Johnson tells me that the though of re-classifying to 2019 is no longer an option and that he’s “100% in the Class of 2020.” He expects to decide where he’ll be playing next season within the next couple of weeks.
