Jeff Capel is known throughout college basketball as an ace recruiter and today he did nothing to change that reputation.
It was an important day for the Pitt program as they hosted New York 4-star point guard R.J. Davis on an unofficial visit and he just so happened to run into one of the biggest names in basketball.
Whether by coincidence or not, Golden State Warriors star guard Steph Curry made a visit to the Pitt practice facility while Davis was on his tour. Curry was college teammates with current Panther assistant coach Jason Richards from 2006-2008 at Davidson.
Pitt is in a dog fight with numerous programs to try and land Davis and I’m sure getting to meet one of the biggest names in professional sports made a positive and lasting impression on him.
