Pitt All 105: DE John Morgan

Published

on

All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2019 training camp roster.

6 • John Morgan, redshirt freshman defensive end

Last year: Played in three games as a true freshman while maintaining his redshirt status.

Stats: Had one tackle against Virginia Tech

Accolades, Highlights:

Camp outlook: With the graduation of two seniors at defensive end, Morgan will battle for a job in the regular rotation as a redshirt freshman. His speed off the edge and ability to drop into zone coverage should also be attractive options for sub package defense.

Projected role: Morgan will have to have a good camp, but he should rotate in behind starters Patrick Jones II and Rashad Weaver alongside Deslin Alexandre and also be in line for a role in Pitt’s Delta sub package.
